AECI Mining Chemicals Promotes Collaborative Vendor Management Model at DRC Mining Week 2026

As the Democratic Republic of Congo continues to pursue industrialisation, value addition and sustainable growth within its mining sector, industry discussions at DRC Mining Week 2026 are increasingly focusing on the role of operational excellence and local skills development in achieving these objectives.

Among the companies contributing to these conversations is AECI Mining Chemicals, which is showcasing its Vendor Management (VM) Model as a solution designed to improve flotation performance while supporting capability development within mining operations.

The company is engaging with mining executives, metallurgical professionals and industry stakeholders throughout the event to demonstrate how closer technical collaboration can help mines improve operational stability, optimise recovery rates and strengthen local expertise.

Visitors to DRC Mining Week can meet AECI Mining Chemicals’ Product Managers and Technical Managers at stands B5 and B8 to discuss flotation challenges, process optimisation strategies and the practical benefits of the Vendor Management approach.

At the core of the model is the integration of experienced technical specialists directly into mining operations. These experts work alongside plant personnel and metallurgists to monitor flotation circuits, identify process challenges and implement solutions aimed at improving metallurgical performance and reducing variability.

Given the dynamic nature of mineral processing, even minor changes in ore composition, water quality or plant operating conditions can significantly affect flotation efficiency. AECI’s Vendor Management Model provides continuous technical oversight and real-time support, enabling operations to respond quickly to changing conditions and maintain consistent performance.

Beyond operational improvements, the company is also emphasising the importance of localisation and long-term skills development. Through daily interaction with mine personnel, AECI facilitates practical training, knowledge sharing and technical mentorship, helping to build in-country expertise that can support the long-term sustainability of the sector.

According to Jeremy Stanley, Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Technology, successful localisation extends beyond local procurement and requires sustained investment in human capital.

“Long-term localisation relies on sustainable expertise and the development of local talent. Our Vendor Management Model creates opportunities for skills transfer while assisting customers to achieve stable and efficient operational performance,” he said.

Stanley noted that DRC Mining Week provides an important platform for engaging with customers and stakeholders on how collaborative technical partnerships can contribute to both operational excellence and workforce development.

As the DRC mining industry continues to expand and diversify, collaboration between mining companies, technical service providers and other stakeholders is becoming increasingly important. Industry leaders attending the event are recognising that the transfer of knowledge and development of local capability are critical components of long-term sector growth.

For AECI Mining Chemicals, building local expertise is not simply a support function but a strategic element of sustainable mining development. As operations seek greater efficiency, productivity and resilience, the combination of advanced technical solutions and skilled local personnel is expected to play a central role in shaping the future of mining in the DRC.
